Computing is an integral part of modern Biostatistics and students have access to all University computing resources which create a vast and diverse computing environment.
 

The Statistics Computing Facility (part of the Department of Statistics) provides biostatistics students with an environment tailored for statistical computing. The core to the Statistics facility is a cluster of workstations producing a state-of-the-art UNIX computing environment. This complete facility includes software such as SAS, S, GLIM, FORTRAN and many subroutine libraries as well as the necessary printers, servers and disk storage. In room 114 Haviland a cluster of terminals and a printer are available to access the Statistics Computing Facility. Also available is the joint School of Public Health/School of Social Welfare computing facility which is comprised of PCs. Ten of these machines are available in Room 307 Haviland and the machines in the instructional laboratory in Room 340A are available during non-teaching hours.
